Shipping and Delivery
Accessories may be shipped via UPS directly to you from the manufacturer's warehouse. In most cases, you will receive these items within 4 to 6 weeks. Certain items may require delivery by a fully insured common carrier specializing in furniture delivery. The common carrier will normally bring the merchandise inside your home and place it in the room of your choice. The in stock merchandise will generally ship within 4 to 8 weeks of your purchase. Most special ordered merchandise will ship to our warehouse within 2 to 6 weeks. After special ordered merchandise arrives in our warehouse and payment is received, it will ship in 4 to 8 weeks. These time periods are only estimates based on past experience. We are not responsible for manufacturer delays or changes in shipping dates.
All shipments are made FOB Seller's Loading Dock. Ownership of merchandises transfers from seller to buyer at our shipping dock, when the common carrier signs the delivery ticket for you. In the event your items will not be delivered by UPS, a representative of the common carrier that will deliver your items will contact you to arrange delivery. This contact will occur shortly after they pick up your merchandise at our dock. Prior to delivery, you will need to provide them with written directions to your home. You are responsible for notifying common carrier in advance of any special delivery conditions and for ensuring the merchandise will fit through doorways, stairways, corridors, elevators, etc. If delivery to a designated area is not reasonably possible, delivery will be made to an accessible area as determined by the delivery personnel. In some cases, a delivery may require additional help/equipment or be subject to special transportation or toll charges to access your property. All additional charges are your responsibility. In the event that the delivery location is not accessible by the common carrier's vehicles, the delivery will be made to the nearest accessible point and you will be responsible for delivery from that point. You will be assessed a redelivery charge in the event that no one is present to accept a scheduled delivery or said delivery is cancelled or refused. The shipping charges will be paid to the common carrier at the time of delivery either in cash or certificated funds.
NOTE:
Shipping should be handled by a nationwide in home furnishing movers. Your furniture should be blanket wrapped, taken inside your home and placed for you on delivery. On certain items the delivery service may recommend transporting your furniture in its crate for safe traveling. We can recommend fully insured independent delivering carriers. The independent delivering carrier will fully insure all your merchandise for the full selling value. Customers are encouraged to inquire on quotes from other nationwide in home delivery services. Grindstaff’s and/or its management have no ownership in any shipping carrier service. Shipping carriers normally charge based on weight, delivery zip code area, a notification and fuel charge per order delivered. Pricing is subject to change with out notifying. Most all upholstery items, including wicker, rattan and patio furniture, will be rated based on standard weight or actual weight whichever is greater.

INSPECTION OF MERCHANDISE
Shipments via Common Carrier: It is imperative that you make a claim of any damage or defective merchandise immediately upon delivery by noting the problem on the carrier’s Bill of Lading. In all cases the common carrier will bring any damaged or defective merchandise back for inspection, repair or replacement.
Please verify that the correct item and/or number of cartons have been delivered, and inspect your furniture carefully while the delivery person is still at your home, before signing your delivery Bill of Lading receipt. You signature is your acknowledgement that your merchandise is satisfactory and is in order.
Before you sign your name, you must indicate any damage or defect on the Bill of Lading. Any claim of damage that is not noted on the Bill of Lading is your responsibility to pursue directly with the Trucking Company.
SALES TAX AND USE TAX
If registered to do so within the state of delivery, Grindstaff’s Inc. will collect "sales" and "use" tax. If not, please be aware that you may have a use tax liability. Purchases by customers of other states may be subject to a "use tax." You are encouraged to consult with your own tax advisor or revenue officials concerning the state and local tax laws in your jurisdiction.
